Guns.

I find the best treasures at the Goodwill by my house. My secret?

I go *gasp* almost every day. No joke.

I don’t spend hours there though. Mainly I make a sweep - I walk through the store and if I don’t come across anything I’m outta there.  Thorough rummaging is reserved for my days off. On occasion there will be some great finds in the weekly Goodwill auction.

On my last day off I found two vintage toy guns. Originally, I wanted to paint them gold (so gaudy, I know). I really love the monochromatic look though - more subtle and modern.

Outside my door.

There was a couch in the street for weeks. Had it been in better condition I may have tried to salvage it. I took pictures instead.

Tap. Tap.

I purchased some tap lights tonight for my dark (and jam packed) closet. Now if I only had more space...

Grackles.

Grackles are a problem in Austin. They’re everywhere (see pics below), they’re loud, and they’re aggressive. See, even Wikipedia agrees.

Above are some pictures taken in my neighborhood.

Ironically, I purchased two Audubon prints and got them home before realizing one was an illustration of my least favorite birds Grackles!

DAILY FIND.

Below are some pictures of dried seaweed that I discovered:

a.) at the beach
b.) in an antique store
c.) at Marshalls

You can find treasures at Marshalls/T.J. Maxx/Ross but you will have to sift through lots o’ junk to get to ‘em. The seaweed was only $5.99! What a find...

The vase I purchased at my neighborhood Goodwill. The rocks inside the base of the vase I found outside my apartment.

Bathroom.

Not much to see in here. I do love the look of old bathroom heaters though.

Bathroom wish list (wish being the operative word):

From Stitch Chicago. So luxurious!

Bedroom

You’re probably sick of these monotonous black and white pics of my 500 sq ft apartment, but too bad! I’ll try to keep it short and sweet for you though...

The art deco armoire/wardrobe was only $100 at my neighborhood Goodwill! The love seat (in a robin’s egg blue) was a gift from my friend Becca.

Catch my bad dreams please!

Cow bag!

Awesome albeit non functioning horse lamp.

Cropped closet shot.

I try to adhere to Feng Shui rules in the bedroom whenever possible, although it’s difficult to avoid clutter in such a small space. I especially avoid the “death position” - sleeping with your feet facing the door. Better safe than sorry, right?

Quest for Knobs

I’ve been searching for the perfect knobs for my kitchen and bathroom cabinets. My apartment came with the most god-awful 70’s(?) knobs and I’ve been on a mission to replace them with something both adorable and affordable. Today on a quick trip to Anthropologie I came across these gems!

I love the green color!

They compliment my Fiestaware!

The original knobs. Ew!

Kitchen

Here are some of my favorite things in the kitchen. Actually, you can’t even tell it’s a kitchen. Somehow the dirty dishes pics didn’t make the cut. Ha!

Beverages of choice.
